This live-edge hardwood cutting board board is made from a single slab of dark walnut with stripes of red-orange padauk wood. The vivid padauk wood makes a gorgeous contrast against the dark walnut. The board's solid wood edge & face grain construction ensures uniform thickness and an even cutting surface. What's more the wood fibers absorb impact of cutting blades, allowing knives to stay sharper and the board smoother. The bottom has rubber feet to prevent slipping on counter tops. The entire board is beveled on the sides for a distinct look and easier handling.

All cutting boards are handmade locally in Omaha, Nebraska. Sizes, shapes and patterns are determined by supply of hardwood. I work with local vendors - many of them small business owners who harvest trees and sell slabs of wood.

Each cutting board is finished with a food safe mineral oil and beeswax. It is ready to use as soon as you receive it. It is recommended you coat your cutting board with this mineral oil to rejuvenate it about once a month if it’s being used. This prevents the wood from drying out, cracking, splitting and reduces knife blade cuts.
